Arrangement of a cover of the thermostat in 4-cylinder models
|
The thermostat cover in 4-cylinder models is located behind the water pump. |
Arrangement of a casing of the thermostat in 6-cylinder models
|
The thermostat casing (it is specified by an arrow) is located behind an inlet collector over a transmission. |
The general check
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. Measure level of a cooling liquid, check up a tension drive a belt and functioning of the temperature gauge. |
2. If the engine is warmed up too long, most likely, that has jammed the thermostat in open position. Replace the thermostat. |
3. If the engine overheats, check up temperature of the top hose of a radiator if the hose not hot, means, the thermostat has jammed in the closed position. Replace the thermostat. |
|
Thermostat check
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. For carrying out of more careful check the thermostat is necessary for removing from the engine. |
2. If the thermostat is not closed at a room temperature, means, it is faulty and is subject to replacement. |
3. Lower the thermostat in capacity with cold water (the thermostat is closed). |
|
4. Warm up water in capacity and watch its temperature. The thermostat should not concern walls and a capacity bottom. |
5. Write down thermometer indications when the thermostat only starts to open and when it is completely open. Compare the received sizes to technical requirements. |
6. Replace the thermostat if it does not open or it is not closed or it gets jammed in any position. |
|
Replacement
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. Disconnect a wire of the minus plug of the accumulator. |
2. Merge cooling liquid from a radiator. Disconnect a hose of a radiator from a casing of the thermostat or from an inlet tube. |
3. In 4-htsilindrovyh engines disconnect an inlet tube from a thermostat casing. For the best access remove the oil filter. |
|
4. In 6-cylinder engines a cover of the air valve also unscrew nuts (are specified by arrows) in a back part of the engine. Shift wires to get access to bolts of a cover of the thermostat. |
|
5. Disconnect an inlet tube (it is specified by an arrow) from a head of cylinders and disconnect a tube from a thermostat casing (6-cylinder models). |
6. Disconnect from a casing of the thermostat of fastening and a wire and remove a casing.
|
7. Get the thermostat from a casing. |
|
8. Clean joined surfaces and establish a new lining.
|
9. Establish the thermostat and a thermostat casing upside-down removals. |
