7.2.8. The gauge of temperature of soaked up air (IAT-gauge)

THE GENERAL DATA

The IAT-gauge represents the thermoresistor which resistance raises at temperature fall.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. On 4-cylinder engines disconnect from the gauge a socket which is in the air filter, check up resistance of the gauge at various temperatures (See the table of Value of resistance of serviceable gauges of temperature of soaked up air and a cooling liquid at various temperatures 4-cylinder engines), blowing in the gauge, for example, the hair dryer. If resistance of the gauge changes with temperature is disproportionate, it is necessary to replace it. 2. On 6-cylinder engines disconnect from the gauge a socket, check up resistance of the gauge at various temperatures, having attached an ohmmeter to conclusions 4 and 5 gauges, and compare with tabular (see the table of Value of resistance of serviceable gauges of temperature of soaked up air and cooling liquid at various temperatures 6-cylinder engines). If resistance of the gauge does not correspond tabular it is necessary to replace it.

On 6-cylinder engines the IAT-gauge is executed in the uniform module with the gauge of the expense of air.

1. Switch off ignition. 2. Disconnect a socket and remove the gauge.
